In October 2006, the Hilton hotel opened its doors in what was until the advent of ‘The London Shard’ the UK’s tallest mixed-use building which, at 47 storeys high, is a beautiful and spectacular addition to Manchester’s Skyline. The striking glass tower reaches 157m, with a glass ‘blade’ increasing the height of the building to 171m.
The development comprises 219 luxury residences, a 279-bed Hilton Conference Hotel, featuring Cloud 23 Skybar located on the top floor of the hotel. The scheme has already won a RIBA Housing Excellence Award.
The Hilton Hotel was sold to investors during 2011
